Think Green

Nowadays, the environment and ecology are very present in the discussions because of the global warming and the arctic issue. Is very important to learn about this topics so each year more and more schools are doing some projects to recycle anything. For example, last year in my high school with my classmates. we recycle plastic bottles to make planters for medicinal plants, it was a project to reuse the bottles that we daily use in our homes. The grade of one of my friends reuse the boxes to transport fruits and vegetables in furniture like chairs and shelves. It was pretty fun and very eco friendly these two projects.

Back in Castro, I used to walk everywhere because the distances were so much shorter than here in Santiago, that's why I don't walk so much in this big city, one of the reason is that I live in a different commune of where I study and I'm always late. Also, I used to recycle the batteries because they cause a very important damage in our brain if it mix with the water, so we don't have to throw it away. we have to throw it in special places because there are some companies that take care of this.

I don't think in myself as very eco friendly, besides these things that I mentioned. I mean, I always try to throw the garbage in the trash can or walk whenever I can, but I'm not doing anything with a big impact to promote ecology. I have thought of join Greenpeace or some organisation like this one, but I have never tried it. It could be because you have to pay a subscription and I don't make money on my own.

I think that everyday there are people who are trying to protect the environment, like bury their organic garbage in their own yard or making organic fuel. Also, through social networks people promote this kind of things by creating pages where you can learn how to reuse your own stuff.

So far so good?

This year was pretty amazing to me, and still is....

This year I started study Psychology at Universidad de Chile, I never thought that I could be here because I always had doubts about "what to study?" and "where?", my first choice was Temuco, the same career, because I didn't think that I could enter in this university.

Later, I had to come to Santiago to looking for a place to live, it was hard because this city has a lot of apartments but everybody are looking for one, after all the hunting, my cousin and I finally found a nice apartment to live.

The first semester was harsh, not much for the subjects but all the change from high school to college, plus, you start to live by yourself, so you have to pay the bills, do the dishes, do the laundry, clean up the whole apartment, etc, because I'm not from Santiago, I'm from Castro, that means that I'm living away of my family. On the other hand, I have met many new people, that's one of the most great things that happened to me this year so far.

My main achievement in 2014 was that I survived to a semester at university and also now in a way, I live by myself and haven't died yet.

But, it still hasn't finished this year so I need to pass all my subjects, that's my goal. Another goal is I don't want to do any exam, but so far I haven't fulfilled this last goal, I have a couple of months to make it, though.
